MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Membership Subscriptions are charged annually. Subscription Rates: High Schools £100, Primary Schools £50, Community Groups £35, are payable to:
Badenoch & Strathspey Minibus Association.
Mileage will be charged from the Member Group’s normal base at the rate of 90p per mile for the first 100 miles then 60p for all additional miles per trip.
It is very important that Drivers complete the Highland Council Drivers Checks Book prior to each journey as failure to do so might result in a fine or points on their Driving Licence if stopped for a roadside check by Police or DVSA Officers.
Drivers must also fill in a BASMA Mileage Form fully and accurately for every trip, sign it and return it with the keys to Grantown Grammar for the Grantown Minibus, or, leave it in the folder in the front of the Minibus kept at Kingussie High School.
To be insured by Highland Council (HC), and to use the BASMA Minibus, the Driver must be registered with HC and the Organisation they drive for must be a fully paid up member of BASMA and comply with the following conditions:

You must be 21 years old or older.

Held a Full Drivers Licence for at least 2 years.

You must meet “Group 2 Medical Standards” if you are over 70. Your GP will advise.

You are driving on a voluntary basis for a “Not for Profit” “Third Sector”, Organisation followed by: any Highland Council School in Badenoch & Strathspey.

You must have Category D1 on your drivers licence.

Read and agree to abide by the BASMA “Conditions of Use”

You must have an in date MIDAS Certificate, or,
Hold a Full PCV Licence, or,
Have completed training and passed the test to obtain a Full D1 Licence.
